Actor and filmmaker Ron Howard said Wednesday that many people in Hollywood who have worked with President Trump in the past view him as a “morally bankrupt egomaniac” who is now “hustling” the country.
“In the entertainment industry many who have known/worked w/ Trump think that while his reality show was fun and ran a long time, he’s a self-serving, dishonest, morally bankrupt ego maniac who doesn’t care about anything or anyone but his Fame & bank account & is hustling the US,” Mr. Howard, 65, tweeted to his 2.6 million followers.
The two-time Oscar winner was responding to a Twitter user who complained that “the smallest of achievements” by former President Barack Obama were heralded by Hollywood but “with Trump it is only negativity.”
Mr. Howard went on slam the president as inexperienced, offering praise to former Republican President Ronald Reagan for gaining his political experience as governor of California before running for the highest office in the land.
Mr. Howard also revealed that the first vote he ever cast was for former President Richard Nixon, also a Republican, in 1972.
